Deleting your Ooks account and data
Ooks is a spelling & dictation practice app operated by Naria Pte. Ltd. (Singapore). This page explains how to delete your account and what data is removed.
Delete your account from inside the app
- Open Ooks and sign in as the guardian (the adult account holder).
- Go to Settings.
- Under Account security, tap Delete account.
- Confirm by entering your password, then tap Delete.
This is permanent and cannot be undone. It deletes the guardian account and every child account under it, on this device and in the cloud.
What is deleted
- Your guardian account and login.
- Every child account you created (each child has its own login).
- All spelling/dictation decks and cards.
- All study history, progress, scores, and review records.
- All photos of spelling lists you uploaded.
- All of the above on the device and in our cloud backup.
What is kept
Nothing that identifies you or your child is kept. Anonymous, institution-level reference data — for example a school or class label that contains no personal information — may remain in a shared lookup used to suggest class word lists. It cannot be linked back to you or your child.
When it happens
Your data is removed immediately when you confirm. Any residual copies in encrypted system backups are purged within 30 days.
Can’t access the app?
If you can’t sign in to delete your account yourself, email us from your guardian account’s email address at privacy@ooks.ai with the subject “Delete my account”, and we will delete your account and all associated data for you.
